Vote for DC's Own K-9 Roo!

Voting is open to pick the finalists for 2012 American Hero Dog Awards!

One of DCFD's hard working dogs is in the running.  From DCFD.com:

"K-9 Roo is a member of the District of Columbia Fire and EMS Department’s Fire Investigations Unit. Working for one of the nation’s busiest Fire Investigations Unit, K-9 Roo has worked over 450 fire scenes. During his career, K-9 Roo has received several letters of commendation from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. In the past year K-9 Roo assisted a multi-jurisdictional task force with his “sniffing ability” which led to the arrest and conviction of a serial arsonist. Roo works tirelessly day and night never once failing to meet the requests set forth by his investigator colleagues. He has provided service to not only the District of Columbia but surrounding jurisdictions as well. Roo is a true hero in every sense of the word for his determination and willingness to work whenever the need arises. I am proud to have Roo as my partner and feel that he is a true example of a Hero Dog."
