Loose Lips at Washington City Paper reports HTJ has asked to serve his sentence at one of two locations:  Pensacola, FL, or Montgomery, AL.  Why is this significant?  Loose Lips explains:

"Why is this ironic? LL loves sunshine as much as the next guy, but Thomas and his legal team spent much of today's court hearing playing up the fact that Thomas is a big family man. His mother, Romaine Thomas, pleaded with Judge John D. Bates for mercy and leniency on behalf of Thomas' family, particularly his young children. Thomas' legal team even submitted letters from Thomas' kids talking how much their father means to them."

Harry Thomas Jr. Gets 3-year Sentence

The Washington Post reports:

"A solemn and weary Harry Thomas Jr. stood before a federal judge Thursday and blamed “a sense of entitlement” for his having used his former position as a D.C. Council member to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars intended for youth programs."

Since Harry Thomas, Jr. transitioned from D.C. Council member to felon, Ward 5 has been searching for a replacement.
