Free HIV Testing at DC Public Libraries
"The DC Department of Health is thrilled that DC residents can now get free HIV tests at the public library. District residents can already easily get tested at the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Human Services' Anacostia Center, and we are proud to add the D.C.
Public Library," said Dr. Gregory Pappas, Director of the DC DOH's HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD and TB Administration (HAHSTA). "This is exactly the kind of community partnership and integration of services we need to fight our HIV/AIDS epidemic."
Free testing and counseling will be available once-a-month, from 4:30pm - 7:30pm, at the following D.C. Public Libraries:
Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library (3935 Benning Road, N.E.)
- 2nd Tuesday of every month
Anacostia Neighborhood Library (1800 Good Hope Road, S.E.)
- 3rd Thursday of every month
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (901 G Street, N.W.)
- 2nd Monday of every month
Metro TeenAIDS is a community health organization dedicated to supporting young people in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Through education, support, and advocacy, MTA works to prevent the spread of HIV, promote responsible decision making, and improve the quality of life for young people infected with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS.
