Come celebrate spring with your fellow Forklift Fans at our Annual Garden Party on Saturday, March 31st. The sale is our official kick-off for the spring home and garden season - see schedule below. Dogs and other friendly pets are welcome (Animals must be on leashes).
Please invite all your friends, and send an announcement to your neighborhood listserves. Share it on Facebook and Twitter, or download and print our flyer to hand out!
Two-legged and four-legged attendees are encouraged to come in garden party attire. Why not don your jauntiest hat, vintage dress, or seersucker suit? For inspiration, check out Dandies and Quaintrelles, a stylish DC group known for their Seersucker Socials and Tweed Rides. If you're not into dressing up, that's okay too - show up in your favorite gardening gear, well-worn overalls and muddy boots!
Schedule of Events

Store Opens
9:00 AM
Yup, we'll have lawn & garden supplies! Come early and bring a friend, because there may be a big rush when the gates open. Please be patient and polite to the staff, volunteers, and your fellow Forklift Fans! (Note to early birds: we do not have any lawn & garden supplies out on our sales floor yet. We will not be selling any lawn & garden items until 9am on March 31st)
This year, it seems like the majority of garden donations have been planters and some landscaping stone. However, we're expecting a lot of eager shoppers to stop by! So that you don't leave disappointed, we have also purchased tools, decor, and flower pots through a wholesale source. It's brand-new stuff - but the prices will still be less than retail, and you'll be supporting your favorite nonprofit reuse center!

Juggling Lessons from Deciduous Dave
Deciduous Dave crafts walking sticks and other items from wood that was found, reclaimed, repurposed or sustainably harvested. Inspired by his passion for juggling, he also crafts devil sticks, juggling pins and juggling orbs, often using tools and wood from Community Forklift. He will also be giving juggling lessons in the afternoon - times to be announced on the Forklift Blog.
FREE Seeds and Planting Advice
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Volunteers from the Neighborhood Farm Initiative (NFI), a nonprofit project of America the Beautiful Fund will be distributing vegetable and flower seed packets as well as providing gardening tips from 2-5pm. The NFI mission is to improve underutilized public green spaces in the Washington, DC area by creating demonstration gardens for hands-on community-wide education, thereby increasing access to fresh vegetables for all members of our community, regardless of income.

This is fun. I hope there will be lots of Lawn Mower Parts that will be displaying.
ReplyDeleteAn used forklift won't just be as suitable and on a par with a brand new one but may additionally be very savvy in comparison to a just out of the plastic new forklift. Likewise, make sure that the fork lift truck you purchase is made up of tough material and is not difficult to handle.
