Does Your Water Taste Funny?

From DC Water and Sewer Authority:

From March 26 through May 7, 2012, the disinfectant used for drinking water treatment will temporarily switch from chloramine to chlorine. During this time, you may notice a slight change in the taste and smell of your drinking water. Chlorine levels are monitored daily and will continue to meet safe target levels.
Individuals and business owners who take special precautions to remove chloramine from tap water, such as dialysis centers, medical facilities and aquatic pet owners, should continue to take the same precautions during the temporary switch to chlorine.
The temporary switch in disinfectant is a standard practice to maintain high water quality throughout the year. To minimize a chlorine taste or odor, flush cold water taps for two minutes, refrigerate cold tap water or use a water filter. For more info, contact the Drinking Water Division at (202) 612-3440.

    Community groups in Bloomingdale,
( Our McMillan),, but not many neighbors in Brookland (because they don't care), are trying to keep McMillan Sand Filtration Plant as a park, a "great place", and a huge city market in the underground galleries. This community based sustainable plan would save the historic Sand Filtration Water Plant from demolition(which is stupid) , at least as a demonstration, and really if in emergency we needed to purify water. But DC's annointed Super developers, are going to crush the plant for $60 million, cause you can't put super -overdevelopment on the underground galleries. But CUA professor Miriam Gusevich working with "Our McMillan" designed a world class plan for parrks and recreaton with huge City Market in the masonary gallereis, urban farming, job training, cultural , art and performance activities, healing garden, and much more. Something called Adaptive -reuse, which is sneared at by our irresponsible city oficials.. This is your land,,your own DC land. They think(really?)you must demolish all the old, to wastefully build the new, waste resources and money, it's their only VISION! They have taken our park, closed it for over 25 years, totally squandered millions, now they will destroy the only potential water purification option if DaleCarlia should be interrupted, or attacked by a terrorist plot, or anything.
So enjoy all that Chlorine, buy your $900 water filtration system and install it in your home. Cause the DC govt,,they are exempt from caring about the environment. Do no try to control your own, land, PARKS forget it.
