Mayor Vincent C. Gray, Ward 5 Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, Ward 6 Councilmember and Chairman of the Committee on Parks, Recreation and Libraries Tommy Wells, Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Director Jesus Aguirre, and Department of General Services (DGS) Acting Director Brian Hanlon today announced the beginning of the Playground Improvement Project to renovate existing playgrounds in the District of Columbia. The project is funded by $9.3 million in the Fiscal Year 2013 budget, which was passed by the DC Council on June 5.
