"I'm only going to one harpsichord concert this summer, should it be a Medieval or Baroque music festival?"
Well, prepare to have your mind blown, because one event is crazy enough to feature both.
The Washington Early Music Festival is a biennial event for lovers of early music from the medieval to the baroque, dance and visual arts. Running throughout June, the festival features concerts, workshops, guided art tours, and other events at venues in the District. Highlights include:
- L’Arabesque Baroque will be performing on Thursday, June 7 at 8 p.m. at Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, 1725 Rhode Island Ave NW
- The Wayward Sisters present instrumental music of the seventeenth century on Saturday, June 16 at 8 p.m. at St. Peter’s on Capitol Hill, 313 2nd St. SE
- On Saturday, June 23, Armonia Nova will perform at 8 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church - Capitol Hill, 3rd & A Streets SE
